VISION for Ministry
God has given me a vision to passionately pursue glorifying the Living God through personal godliness, modeling and mentoring Christlikeness in our family, and fulfilling God's unique mission for my life. In His gracious provision, God has orchestrated my life and ministry experiences, training, and spiritual giftedness into a collective whole that is manifested through His clear call to pastoral ministry.
I envision serving with a community devoted to worship of the Living God. By glorifying our Most High God and Savior through excellently communicating God's Living Word (preaching and teaching) in a clear, life-related way to effect change, a hunger for more truth an authentic community is created. I am committed to team ministry by using demonstrable visionary, strategic leadership skills to motivate, encourage and shepherd staff, church leadership, along with training new leaders, so that others are equipped to lead in effective ministry.
By teaming with staff and church leadership, together we will serve and guide the congregation in our on-going quest to know God by helping each believer discover his or her special calling and God's unique vision for each individual's life. As a result, we will glorify God through passionately fulfilling the Great Commission, by fostering and shepherding the local church in multiplying discipleship and effective evangelism in order to be and make fully-functioning followers of our Lord Jesus Christ.
VALUES of Ministry
- Loving the Lord our God and loving others, fulfilling the Great Commandment (Matthew 22:37-39).
- Passionately living authentic spirituality by pursuing an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ as my highest priority and faithfully fulfilling the biblical qualifications to lead God's church (I Timothy 3; I Peter 5:1-4, Titus 1:5-9). Consistently demonstrate the fruit of the Spirit in a commitment to love people, communicate with grace and acceptance, and to live at peace with all men (Romans 12:18) with a shepherd's heart and lifestyle of concern for all members of God's family.
- Commitment to modeling Christ's love for His church by living as a God honoring husband and father
- by cherishing and loving my wife so that she is more holy and Christ-like through our relationship (Ephesians 5:18-32). By God's grace, lovingly train and nurture our children in the Lord so that they are godly, stable and devoted to our Lord (Ephesians 6:1-4). Then to model servant/leadership in a Christ-centered family (Isaiah 59:21).
- Passionate commitment to fulfilling the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20).
- Communicate the Gospel of Grace through God's Word so that unbelievers who are present will desire this wonderful Savior and Lord as his or her own. - In practical terms, this means taking seriously the charge of 1 Timothy 4:11-16 and 2 Timothy 3:14-17 by absorbing myself so deeply in the Scriptures through personal and scholarly study so that the applicability of the living and abiding Word of God will be plainly evident to all who hear. Continue to memorize the New Testament and write my personal translation of the Bible from the original languages of Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek (2 Timothy 2:15).
